The console view seems to have a line of text at the top indicating what console it is. This text appears to be in the same pane as the rest of the text in my console - I originally thought it was part of my program's output but realized I could not select it like the other console text. If this is intended as the view's title area, it should have some boundary between the title area and the body of the view so the user can tell the difference.

Yes, that label is for the part's "content description" (in 3.x speak). In 3.x, we had a line dividing the part's description and its physical content.
