Additional information: I noticed this did not happen until I installed the nightly build of Scala IDE with experimental Helios support on Oct 26, 2010. I uninstalled the plugin and the refactoring began to work again. Perhaps this will help to recreate the issue.

Please install the most recent dev build of AJDT. It is fixed there. Note that ScalaIDE redistributes pieces of AJDT and I believe that they are not redistributing the most recent builds of AJDT.
