I often am viewing ".class" files in Eclipse. I view them with the JD-Eclipse plugin. However, I find that trying to remove those files from a task context doesn't really work. If I close the editor tab (and I have "Remove file from context when editor is closed" turned no) the tab goes away, but if I switch to another task and then back to this task, all the class files reappear in the editor. In one test, I had only three files in my editor view. I switched to another task and then back to this task, and I now have 50 files in the view, where the other 47 are class files. I've seen this happen many times.

Reproducible: Always

We'll need to investigate this. Would you be able to attach a context to this bug where you are seeing removed elements re-appear?

Exported "Task List and Context"

In this Eclipse installation, I imported the preferences from an Eclipse installation on another computer. When I created the preferences, I did "export all". I imagine something in that list had to do with task contexts.

Whenever I start up this new installation of Eclipse, it puts me in my active task with several files opened in the editor that don't actually exist. They most likely existed in my Eclipse installation on the other computer. Each time I start up this new instance, I close those editor windows. I have the flag set in the preferences to remove files from the context when they are closed. Nevertheless, every single time I open up this Eclipse instance, those editor tabs reappear.

I reported this just over two years ago now, and I'm annoyed by it every day.
