Description dhaber CLA 2010-10-15 14:22:58 EDT
Build Identifier: 20100617-1415

If you install eclipse into a directory with a space in it. For example:
c:\program files\eclipse

Then autocomplete fails for JSF Managed Beans (e.g. in an xhtml file).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install eclipse into c:\program files\eclipse
2. Create a new JSF 2.0 project (e.g. glassfish or tomcat 7)
3. Create a faces-config.xml with a managed bean
4. Put the appropriate Java Beans in your class path
5. Create an xhtml file
6. Try to do autocomplete in the xhtml file (e.g. ${myBean.<property>}

Is there an exception in the log when this happens?
Comment 2 dhaber CLA 2010-10-15 17:06:48 EDT
Hi,

I do not see any exceptions in the workspace/.metadata/.log file

Thanks!

Similar issue was fixed in 3.2.1, see bug 318596.
Similar issue is tracked for 3.2.3, see bug 326547.

The fix is also in 3.2.3 and 3.3. Please let us know if you are still seeing the issue in any of the above release streams.

I can still reproduce this in Helios (which I think is 3.6).

Thanks!

The version numbers in comment 5 and 6 refer to the WTP project and not the Eclipse platform project. Please try the use case in the latest service release of WTP-Helios, http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/downloads/drops/R3.2.2/R-3.2.2-20100915173744/
