UML2 defined build-in predefined profiles within the specification. Papyrus should enable to import this UML2 build-in profile through a new menu within the model explorer, such as: "Import profile from registered profile". The purpose of this feature is to enable the reuse of existing profile. Doing that, you will have to check that defining the new profile that reuse some existing registered profile may be definable and applied on models later on.

Done in r2928. Currently this action is provided for each diagram.
Is it necessary to limit this action to the Profile Diagram?
