Description DJ Houghton CLA 2010-10-05 09:53:22 EDT
Here is some feedback on the new website design. We have already discussed some of this but I'll put it in writing. In general the new design is good, a nice refresh which doesn't look outdated like our old format. The addition of the RSS feed is good, and keeps the page feeling updated.

- in the left nav column the word "Components" already has another meaning in the Equinox context. (discussed replacing it with "Work Areas")
- it is good to be able to expand/collapse the sections. Need to make the link stand out more though... maybe an indent and prefixed with +/-?
- we should be able to click on the "repo.gif" and have a definition pop up
- we should be able to click on the "egg.gif" and have it take us to the incubator
- need a legend for the gifs
- not sure about the green dot for the md5, only because green is similar to green light, test results, etc. Are there security-related pics that we can use?
- would be good to add (p2) after the "Provisioning" title
- title is Provisioning Bundles but they are zips of apps rather than individual bundles like the add-ons, etc.
- need some sort of separator (hyphen? colon?) between the API Tooling title/links and their description.

As for the buttons/links in the banner, I like the ones that you list. It is just a matter of getting good content behind it. :-)

Done

Added an animated twisty on the left of the headers. Perhaps not 100% obvious. suggestions for improvements there would be appreciated.

You really want a popup? or just navigate to a page that explains what a repo is? I'd prefer the latter and in particular, pointing to somewhere in the wiki. Note that we don't currently do anything on this icon

Not really sure where to link to as the various egg things can come from different parts of the incubator.

> - need a legend for the gifs

Added at the bottom

> - not sure about the green dot for the md5, only because green is similar to

I looked around for images but did not find any. I evne tried to make some but the space is quite small so went just with colored dots. The colors have been updated to something random but not red, yellow/oragne or green.

> - would be good to add (p2) after the "Provisioning" title

Added p2 before Provisioning

> - title is Provisioning Bundles but they are zips of apps rather than

Changed to p2 Provisioning Tools

Yeah, just.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
