Description Remo Loetscher CLA 2010-09-28 11:06:09 EDT
Build Identifier: R-3.6.1-201009090800

The deliverable "equinox-SDK-3.6.1.zip" from http://download.eclipse.org/equinox/drops/R-3.6.1-201009090800/index.php crashes our build (the deliverable is part of the target platform for a headless pde build on a hudson server).

The reason seems to be that in the "org.eclipse.equinox.serverside.sdk" feature includes the "org.eclipse.equinox.server.p2" with the version "1.0.0.v20100503-7x7IFGOFQ74dz0POCNUBj98N":

[...]
<includes
         id="org.eclipse.equinox.server.p2"
         version="1.0.0.v20100503-7x7IFGOFQ74dz0POCNUBj98N"/>
[...]

But the "org.eclipse.equinox.server.p2" feature is only available in this release with version "1.0.0.v20100503-7x7IFGOFQ74dz0POCNUBjA6L".

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the feature "org.eclipse.equinox.serverside.sdk" in the eclipse Feature Manifest Editor
2. Switch to the tab "included feature"
3. The feature "org.eclipse.equinox.server.p2" cannot be found: has a warning decoration and "double clicking" does not open the feature
4. Changing the feature version solved the problem

Kim is this something wrong with the build, or did we need to tag one of our features to get the versions to align correctly?
Comment 2 Kim Moir CLA 2010-09-28 14:34:48 EDT
We need to increment the version of the feature. The same issue was revealed in in the 3.7 stream build last week when I released the changes for bug 268851. Perhaps I should backport the changes in to compare against the entire repository in the 3.6.x stream as well.

I think this would be a good idea so we can be sure of what features need version increases.
Comment 4 Kim Moir CLA 2010-09-29 09:14:31 EDT
Regarding comment #3, I've opened bug 326532 to backport this fix to 3.6.2
Comment 5 Thomas Watson CLA 2010-09-30 08:54:04 EDT
I'm going to make this bug depend on bug326532. This way we can be sure all the equinox feature versions get updated to the correct version in 3.6.2. Thanks Kim.

dup'ing to bug327772 since that is the bug that was used to release the fix.
