Build Identifier: 20100617-1415 Perspectives don't open in a new window when using the open perspective button on the shortcut bar. However, perspectives consistently open in a new window from the Window -> Open Perspective menu. OS Platform: Linux, Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04 i386. GNOME Version: 2.30.2 JRE Version: 1.6.0_20-b02 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Windows -> Preferences -> Perspective. In the Open a new perspective section, enable the "In a new window" radio box. Apply -> OK. 2. Opening perspectives from the button on the shortcut bar, opens perspectives in the same window not in a new window as expected. 3. Opening perspectives from Window-> Open Perspective correctly opens the perspective in a new window. Sometimes restarting Eclipse and manually opening a new window causes perspectives to open in a new window, but this behavior is very erratic and not easily reproducible.
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
