Build Identifier: Build id: 20100617-1415 installed ruby : 1.8.7 using Mozilla 3.5.7 I tried adding the plug-in using following instructions: Aptana Installation Instructions: Prerequisites: (You need to have both installed.) - Ruby (1.8.6 or later) - http://www.ruby-lang.org/en/downloads/ - FireFox - http://www.mozilla.com/ 1. Visit http://aptana.com/docs/index.php/Plugging_Aptana_into_an_existing_Eclipse_configuration 2. Follow the instructions for Aptana Studio 1.5 on Eclipse 3.5 Instructions (copied below) a. Go to Help -> Install New Software... b. In the "Work with:" text box, enter: http://update.aptana.com/install/studio c. Click Add... d. Specify the Name of the Update site (i.e. Aptana Studio Plugin) e. Click OK f. Select the "Aptana Studio" checkbox g. Click the Next Button h. Confirm the items you are installing i. Click the Next j. Button once more k. Accept the terms and conditions l. Click the Finish Button 3. After Eclipse restarts, a dialog box will eventually pop-up to customize Aptana Studio a. Select "Web Application Platforms: Aptana RadRails" b. Follow the appropriate dialog boxes and prompts. On the “Install Available Software” dialog, check “Rails” and “Aptana RadRails”. c. Once, the install process starts, go get a beverage of your choice. d. After it completes, restart Eclipse. =====> my installation fails here I am getting a dialog stating " launch installer wizard' has encountered a problem. inter error has occured and eclipse closes! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.install eclipse 2.try to install plug-in using steps stated above.

A dialog with "launch installer wizard has encountered a problem" does not sound familiar, perhaps this is something from one of the ad-ons you have installed? Moving to SWT to see if they have comments about the crash. Otherwise I would mark as not_eclipse.
Exception suggestion failure to initialize Mozilla instance, possible reason might be missing XUL libraries. Marking this issue as NOT_ECLIPSE. If you continue to face this problem, please revert with a Code Snippet reproducing this problem, Thanks!
