Let's create a class with ports and display this latter within a Class Diagram. If you trigger the function "Show/Hyde Contents", it will enable you display the ports owned by the class. If you do so, it will display small circles with a plus sign inside (see snapshot of the result).

I know, it's because in the Class Diagram, the object ContainmentLink (here you see the ContainmentCircle) is represented by a UML Port in the GMFGen.
