As requested by Mattias, this bug entry can be used to report ongoing changes/fixes relating to defects discovered by FindBugs. The initial analysis is complete. We're generally regarding FindBugs hits as fitting into one of several buckets: 1. Hits representing defects that are fixable and have been fixed. 2. Hits representing defects that need to be fixed, but will require significant work and have not been fixed yet. 3. Hits representing defects that should be fixed, but are being deferred for one reason or another (hard to fix and/or aren't exhibiting buggy behavior, for example). 4. Hits that are in generated code and will not be fixed. 5. Hits that are in intentionally defective code (e.g. caught null dereferences in test cases) and will not be fixed. 6. Hits that are false positives and will not be fixed. The initial STEM Find Bugs analysis listed approximately 105 "High Priority" hits and approximately 650 "Normal Priority" hits. After 2 or 3 passes, that result set is now down to 51 "High Priority" and 528 "Normal Priority".
