From a 2.6.0 intall, going to the 2.6 interim site and selecting "BIRT Framwork" gets me:

Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.

o.e.d.connectivity.apache.derby.ui's version is 1.0.2.xxx in dtp 1.8.0 project.
o.e.d.connectivity.apache.derby.ui's version is 1.0.3.xxx in dtp 1.8.1 project.
Birt 2.6.1 require DTP 1.8.1, so required items could not be found.
Have 2 solution:
1. Add "http://download.eclipse.org/releases/maintenance" to available software sites,then going to 2.6 interim site and install Birt 2.6.1.
2. Directly access "http://download.eclipse.org/releases/maintenance",then install the latest Birt 2.6.1 feature.

OK, I've added that info to the Wiki page so others don't run into same issue.
