Build Identifier: 20100617-1415 In the Eclipse Preferences dialog, expanding the tree to Java -> Code Style -> Code Templates shows a horizontal scrollbar in the tree part. A way to (maybe optionally) avoid this or indicate a default width for that area would be great so that Eclipse products like Flash Builder can avoid this. Reproducible: Always

This is a very tricky problem...if we were to re-size the tree to never have a horizontal scroll bar there are instances where there'd be very little (if any) space left over on the right to actually work on the preferences. Note that it isn't enough to base this off of some 'suggested width' for the preference set because the amount of space necessary will change based on which language you're using.
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.
