email to/fro Amit ... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Karl, This feature is worth adding to plugingen. Please file a CQ. I will address it in 3.21. Regards Amit -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Wechsler, Karl Sent: Monday, August 16, 2010 2:58 PM To: Mookerjee, Amit Cc: Blake, Jon Subject: BIOS 5.x hack to update eclipse .xml after plugingen Amit – My understanding is that we might need to run a new version of plugingen for CCSv5. I know this is still TBD. I just wanted to flag the problem we have in BIOS 5.x where we have to run a post-processing step to hack the generated .xml to add the BIOS 5.x rta plugin. It would be great if plugingen could handle this for us with additional field in the Product.xdc file. If not, we just need to make sure that we can still hack it as we are doing today. Should I file a CQ asking that plugingen handle this use case? Or is it a big deal and not worth doing? Thanks, -Karl-
Should also support the codec engine usecase of contributing to extension points.
Fixed in xdctools-e08. Added an config parameter named 'externalPlugins' to 'xdc.tools.product.IProduct' that allows users to specify external plugins. Also added the "-f <fragment_text_file>" option to the plugingen tool that allows users to insert their own plugin fragment to the UI plugin generated by the tool.
Will be verified in XDCtools 3.22.02
this is being used in the creation of several products (Grace, and XDCtools, ...)
shipped in 3.22.02
