Screenshot of inconsistent directory dialog

CQ:WIND00202887
Build Id: Any Eclipse 3.5.x, as well as Helios (3.6.0)

When creating a new folder in the DirectoryDialog, the "New Folder" is selected for giving its final name. Type the name and press enter. In the text box below the tree to browse, still "New Folder" is displayed. This is confusing - see also attached screenshot..

Workaround: moving the selection up and down synchronizes the text box with the tree again.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch Eclipse
2. In Workspace selection dialog, click "Browse"
3. Press the "Make New Folder" button
4. Type a new name for the created folder, press ENTER
--> The text box does not show the new name.

Reproducible: Always

In general, it would be good to use a more modern native directory dialog, like the attached one which I get (for instance) in MS Word 2000 (Tools > Options..., File Locations, Modify).

Martin, why am I cc-ed?

Likely because I cloned this from bug 307351, which seemed slightly related, so I thought that you might be interested.

OK, thanks. I just wasn't sure whether you expected some answer from be but forgot to ask the question ;-)

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
