Description Lars Vogel CLA 2010-08-11 09:23:44 EDT
The xpand project has a wounderful generic EMF editor in the plugin org.eclipse.emf.generic.editor.

Would it be possible to bring this editor the EMF core and use it as default?
Comment 1 Ed Merks CLA 2010-08-11 19:59:28 EDT
It works for any model or just Ecore? It has dependencies on xtend, so I don't think it can be pulled into the core. I'm also not in a good position, as one of only two active committers, to pull in more commitments...
Comment 2 Ed Merks CLA 2010-08-17 13:32:59 EDT
My sense is that this editor can't be moved to the core, because of its dependencies, but if there are aspects of it that can, that would be fine. It doesn't need to be in the core to be available for general use, but it would have to be more than just an example...

I agree, should not be in core. Closing
