Description Nicolas Bros CLA 2010-08-11 08:48:30 EDT
Hi,

We are using the Buckminster plug-in installed in Hudson to build MoDisco.
MoDisco uses Mylyn WikiText to build its documentation and Acceleo to generate code during the build.

Unfortunately, these two features are missing from the Buckminster install in Hudson.
Would it be possible to add them?

Sorry I don't understand your request. Are these 'extra' plugins we could install or are you requesting changes to the Hudson buckminister plugin itself?

The Hudson Buckminster plug-in has an installation of Eclipse containing Buckminster and other Eclipse plug-ins (SVN support, etc.). But this installation is missing the Acceleo and WikiText plug-ins. So, I'm asking whether they could be added to this installation. This operation can only be done by a Hudson administrator.
This is documented on this page: http://wiki.hudson-ci.org/display/HUDSON/Buckminster+PlugIn

Nicolas, what other requirements will those plug-ins have? Are they completely headless?

Both WikiText and Acceleo have UI components.
For WikiText, I believe installing the UI components is not necessary, but for Acceleo, the builder is defined inside a UI plug-in.

If it is not possible to install Acceleo because of this UI dependency, could we at least install WikiText?
The needed plug-ins are:
org.eclipse.mylyn.wikitext.core
org.eclipse.mylyn.wikitext.mediawiki.core

I think that configuring Buckminster with a complete UI will lead to problems and I would like to avoid that. Would it be possible to convince the Acceleo people to move their builder out of their UI component? Perhaps there's a bugzilla for this already?

Is there a headless feature that can be installed for WikiText?

I created Bug 322635.

There doesn't seem to be such a feature on the Mylyn update site.
Is it not possible to install individual bundles?

I got it working without installing wikitext inside Buckminster. In fact, it turns out wikitext must NOT be installed inside Buckminster for it to work, due to a ClassLoader conflict (cf Bug 324105).
