Description Teethu Thomas CLA 2010-08-06 19:15:59 EDT
Installed the CICS Explorer SDK in Helios and when I try to open the perspective it goes down with an error "Problem opening perspective 'com.ibm.cics.core.ui.sm.perspective'. i tried changing to older versions of jdk but still it did not work. But I am able to open the perspective in Gaileo version of eclipse. The same happens for lot of IBM plugins like, fault analyzer, Application Performance Analyzer and it works perfectly in Galileo version.

Thanks

If you look at the log you will see an unsupported class version error. This means that you are running Eclipse with a version of Java that is older than the version where the CICS support is compiled. Move to a newer version of Java to host your Eclipse and you should be fine.

I have figured out the reason, the 64 bit Helios Eclipse insist on using the Java Version 5. I have downloaded the 32 bit version of Helios Eclipse and it works fine with jre6, and the CICS explorer also works fine when I went for the higher version of Java. Thank for the advise.
