1) New PDE launch config
2) Plugins Tab > Features selected only
3) With all features selected, use the text filter
Result: Filtered items show up
4) Clear the text filter, hit deselect all
5) With no features selected, use the text filter
Result: Nothing shows up!
6) Clear the text filter
Result: Nothing is visible in the tree anymore.

Reopening, these steps result in different behaviour than the steps on bug 335289
