Description Andrew Overholt CLA 2010-08-03 10:33:33 EDT
I have a cron job that takes the Linux Tools builds from Hudson and makes them available in the Linux Tools update site. This stopped working after the build server OS upgrade:

> ls -lh
total 40K
-rw-r--r-- 1 aoverholt common 38K 2010-07-30 12:17 content.jar
> chgrp technology.linux-distros content.jar
chgrp: changing group of `content.jar': Operation not permitted
> chown aoverholt:technology.linux-distros content.jar
chown: changing ownership of `content.jar': Operation not permitted

I'm unable to replicate this. However I'm pretty sure that's because it was related to bug 321506.

Thanks, I can verify that it's fixed now.
Comment 3 Andrew Overholt CLA 2010-08-04 14:33:16 EDT
This appears to have regressed:

> ls -l site.xml
-rw-r--r-- 1 aoverholt 1010 3819 2010-08-04 12:12 site.xml

> chgrp technology.linux-distros site.xml
chgrp: changing group of `site.xml': Operation not permitted

> id
uid=8746(aoverholt) gid=1010 groups=1010

My cron jobs are all still failing in the same way.

This is likely due to nscd. You're losing your groups. We're working on that now.
Comment 5 Andrew Overholt CLA 2010-08-11 15:03:00 EDT
I haven't had issues since nscd was fixed. Closing.
