Replace window does not clear error state with regular expression after an error

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Open a text file in i.e. a java project
2. Open Find/Replace dialog
3. choose regular expression
4. Type for example '{ABE}3' i Find box
5. Type for example fff in Replace with box
6. Press Find button and get error message 'Illegal repetition'
7. Clear incorrect expression and replace with for example 'AAA'

Error message is kept and all button, except Close are disabled.

Can reproduce this using R3.6. Like that since day one.

This is not true and even your screenshot proves that.

I are right - my mistake, sorry.
Comment 4 Dani Megert CLA 2010-07-24 04:57:02 EDT
The bug is still valid: the error message should go away when typing again.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
