Opening this bug to track some remaining Mac issues to be evaluated next release.

Why is the perspective switcher not the same as in other platforms? (Linda)

On MacOS X, the toolbar gradient looks a bit jarring for unselected windows (Brian)

Brian - we are trying to plan the visual design work for 4.1 and need clarification on this remark. When you say the gradient for unselected is jarring, did you mean to say "selected tab stacks"? Or are you saying the gradient for the main toolbar is jarring when Eclipse is not the app you are working with?

Clarification (and a screenshot) would help...

Also changing title of bug because the other issue mentioned (perspective switcher not matching) was fixed.

The Mac main toolbar background typically has a background gradient that starts with the window title bar background and going down becomes darker. A non-active window has a lighter-colored title bar, and the main toolbar changes background color accordingly.

What Boris said :-) I've attached a small screenshot showing three windows: two are Safari, one of which is in the foreground. The other window is the E4 SDK. Note how the toolbar is very different looking.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
