Description Paul Webster CLA 2010-07-21 09:24:22 EDT
Open a text file and java file in the java perspective, and activate the java editor. Switch to the debug perspective. Outline is OK. Select the text file. Outline changes.

Switch back to the java perspective. Outline is back to the java editor, even though the text file is correctly still on top.

It just occurred to me that with perspectives and shared parts we will can get ourselves in a state where we can have multiple perspectives pointing down at the same active child (such as two perspectives having the same active child, an editor) but with only one upwards pointer.

Cannot reproduce with I20101014-1937 on Windows XP. Presumably resolved by the implementation of part activation history in bug 300742.

Please reopen if this is still a problem.
