It would be really useful if you could set the editor to display the code according to a formatter, without actually changing the underlying file.

You can have a save format common to all users in the company and an individual display format.

That would solve code style wars, max line size/editor/screen size differences et.c. 

Or at least do word wrapping in editors on (space, symbol tokens) to avoid horizontal scrolling for small editor users.
