Win7, I20100713-2016. I noticed that the Help menu has the Classic Update menu item, "Software Updates...". Went to the preference page to see if the classic update capability was turned on. It is not. I turned it on, and then off, as a double check, but it does not affect whether the classic update menu item appears or not. I have not investigated to see how general of a problem this is...

They are almost entirely non-functional at the moment. Maybe we should provide a similar "not available" page instead of the real one? PW
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie.
