Im BIRT 2.3, the default size for medium sized fonts was 9pt.
In BIRT 2.6.0 it is 12pt (as seen in org.eclipse.birt.report.engine.css.engine.BIRTCSSEngine.getMediumFontSize()).

As this affects all reports (texts doesn't fit anymore etc.), it should be considered to reduce the size back to 9pt.

We have changed the default medium font size into 12pt since BIRT2.6.0 to make sure it shows well in prevalent environment. There exists complex relationships between the absolute size and the relative size, and it depends on many factors such as OS, web browser, dpi and so on. For more details, please refer the following link:

So that I think you need to modify your report designs to make them work well.

I cannot expect from our customers to edit dozens of already existing reports. Our customers expect that after a BIRT update their reports work as before.
It's much easier for me to edit the source code and change the size back to 9pt and to have our customers to use the changed version.

reopen to consider a solution to maintain font-size for older version of report design.

possible solution is to have a engine setting of absolute font size for medim, larte, and small.
