Description Enrique Herrera CLA 2010-07-09 18:55:58 EDT
Eclipse Galileo Sp2
Java 1.5.xx

Default editor gprof.out come up as Binary Editor. When tried to open with other editor, the editor selection did not have GProf in it.

Xavier, is the BREE correct for the gprof plugin?
Comment 2 Xavier Raynaud CLA 2010-07-13 08:18:46 EDT
Hi,

You're right: "gprof.out" is not recognized a gprof input.
For now, only "gmon.out", "gmon.sum", and a few other filenames are recognized.

You can try to rename you file, or, better, to patch the file "org.eclipse.linuxtools.gprof/plugin.xml" in order to add "gprof.out" to the list of filenames recognized by gprof plugin.

How do you obtained the "gprof.out" file ?
Most compilers generate "gmon.out", not "gprof.out".

Moreover, in some gprof man page, you can see:
" gprof >gprof.out # Name the report whatever you like "
In this case, gprof.out is *not* the gmon file, but the textual result of the parsing of this gmon file.
