I'm using p2 agent to manage Eclipse profiles. With http://download.eclipse.org/tools/mylyn/update/weekly/e3.4 everything worked fine, but as soon as I switched to http://download.eclipse.org/tools/mylyn/update/weekly I started to receive the following error during the install: Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found. Software being installed: Mylyn Commons 3.5.0.I20100626-2300-e3x (org.eclipse.mylyn.commons.feature.group 3.5.0.I20100626-2300-e3x) Missing requirement: Mylyn Commons 3.5.0.I20100626-2300-e3x (org.eclipse.mylyn.commons.feature.group 3.5.0.I20100626-2300-e3x) requires 'javax.xml [1.3.4.v201005080400]' but it could not be found Prior installing Mylyn my profile contains: org.eclipse.sdk.ide, org.eclipse.pde.api.tools.ee.fragments.feature.group and org.eclipse.releng.tools.feature.group. All brand new, taken from 3.7 I-builds update site.
Thanks for letting us know. Looks like the 3.6 based build did not fetch the Orbit jar and hence did not include it on the site. You can work around it by adding the Orbit update site http://download.eclipse.org/tools/orbit/downloads/drops/R20100519200754/repository or by de-selecting/uninstalling the commons feature. It is only needed for old UM compatibility and build purposes but does not need to be installed. I'll try to fix this for the next build but it could take another two weeks since we are currently making a number of changes.
Skipping the commons feature didn't work since I ended up with a similar error, but this time the Connector was missing javax.xml.bind: Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found. Software being installed: Mylyn Connector: Bugzilla 3.5.0.I20100626-2300-e3x (org.eclipse.mylyn.bugzilla_feature.feature.group 3.5.0.I20100626-2300-e3x) Missing requirement: XML Binding for Java 2.2.0.v201005080402 (javax.xml.bind 2.2.0.v201005080402) requires 'package javax.xml [1.3.0,2.0.0)' but it could not be found Cannot satisfy dependency: From: Mylyn Connector: Bugzilla 3.5.0.I20100626-2300-e3x (org.eclipse.mylyn.bugzilla_feature.feature.group 3.5.0.I20100626-2300-e3x) To: javax.xml.bind [2.2.0.v201005080402] Fortunately the workaround with the Orbit update site did the job.
Good to know. I'll need to find a way to convince the build system to publish the javax.xml Orbit jar. Out of curiosity, which version of Java are you running?

The plug-in is now copied to the weekly site as part of the build.
