Build Identifier: irrelevant When trying to run the qt-designer after installing the latest qt and eclipse I had an issue with it not running the mingw so doing some research I decided I needed to make sure I installed the right version of eclipse. This is where I learned of ganymede and helios and other version. Not what they are but that they existed. Trying to learn more all I could discover is a list of projects but not what they are in and of themselves. The eclipse website is poorly designed and should be more product/project aligned, or more specifically product then project aligned. So far all I can determine is that you have no real help without first being tricked into joining a newsfeed and that there really is no product explanation of helios and ganymede or that it is hard to locate...still searching...if I am complaining about it there are at least ten others that feel the same and many more that have turned away... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. forget all you know about eclipse already (get a newbie for god's sake) 2. open the website in a browser 3. try to find an explanation of what ganymede is and how is it different from helios
contact me with a link to a description of what is ganymede vs helios vs other products or dont bother contacting me
Hi John, You might find this link helpful..its reachable from a banner ad at the top of the eclipse home page but that's rotating. http://www.eclipse.org/helios/ "Eclipse Helios is the annual release of Eclipse projects in 2010; this year 39 project teams are part of the release." The downloads page is the best place to learn about specific products: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ hth, Miles
I don't think its a PDE bug. Moving it to Platform. btw I would start with looking at What's new Pages http://help.eclipse.org/ganymede/index.jsp?topic=/org.eclipse.platform.doc.user/whatsNew/platform_whatsnew.html http://help.eclipse.org/helios/index.jsp?topic=/org.eclipse.platform.doc.user/whatsNew/platform_whatsnew.html
>2. open the website in a browser What website? eclipse.org?
