Build Identifier: M20100211-1343 TreeEditor used to add custom controls to a TreeItem does not go away when the item is collapsed. This behavior leads to the TreeEditor appearing randomly anywhere on the screen when the TreeItem is collapsed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a Tree 2. Create an TreeItem. 3. Create a child TreeItem to the item in #2. 4. Add a TreeEditor to the TreeItem and add some controls in it like checkbox, a few labels etc. 5. Collapse the item in #2 => The TreeEditor persists in view and appearing randomly on screen, thus obstructing many good items. The TreeEditor should be allowed to be invisible once its TreeItem is collapsed. This will help increase the usability of the Tree many-fold since the applications can really customize the cells very finely and perfectly tailored to their needs.
Created attachment 173472 [details] Example of TreeEditors persisting in view Attached is an image showing what is achievable using TreeEditors if only they are allowed to be made invisible when the item is collapsed.

The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie.
