When pressing the control key, hyperlinks won't appear unless I move the mouse. 
It is possible to query the mouse location from the Display without a mouse 
event.

However, maybe this is intentional since Control is often pressed to invoke an 
accelerator, and the mouse could be in a random location.  In this case, you 
would have to try to keep some hueristic to guess what the user is really doing.
