Description Eric Moffatt CLA 2010-06-28 10:17:29 EDT
Oleg has delivered bug 317595; allowing creation of contributed elements without needing 'local' contexts and a specific 'uninject' API to allow cleanup of elements that are MContributions but who do not own their own context.

This bug will track the work needed to integrate this new functionality into the UI layer.

The first part of this will be to ensure that all contributions are created using the new technique of creating an *unparented* local context and passing it as the 'static' context of the new create method.

The second part will entail ensuring that whenever we deem that an MContribution's 'object' field goes null that it gets uninjected. For elements that are also MContexts this means disposing their context for others (e.g. MToolControl, MMenuItem...) it means directly calling 'uninject' through that elements owning context.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
