Description Lars Vogel CLA 2010-06-24 16:37:08 EDT
If I update cvs the progress view (
ProgressView from
org.eclipse.ui.ide (3.6.0.I20100601-0800)) does not show the progress.

You see the update in the status line but not in this view.
Comment 1 Remy Suen CLA 2010-06-24 16:41:18 EDT
This is probably the bug where a view stops showing stuff.
Comment 2 Remy Suen CLA 2010-06-24 16:43:11 EDT
1. Run a hello world application.
2. The 'Console' appears and shows content.
3. Ctrl+3 > Debug
4. The 'Console' view shows the content appropriately.
5. Ctrl+3 > Java
6. Close the 'Console' view.
7. Ctrl+3 > Console
8. Now it has nothing.
9. Ctrl+3 > Debug
10. Notice that the view is still showing stuff.
Comment 3 Remy Suen CLA 2010-06-24 17:27:46 EDT
This seems to be caused by the fix to bug 311163, between v1.3 and v1.4 of ModelServiceImpl. Because we select an element that's TBR flag is 'false', it doesn't actually get rendered, which explains why the 'Console' view has no content. One might question why the tab doesn't show stuff after setting the flag to 'true'.

StackRenderer patch v1

This will correct the code so that MPlaceholders will not be ignored. While it is correct that they should not be ignored, it feels to me as though something is still amiss.
Comment 5 Remy Suen CLA 2010-06-24 17:36:29 EDT
If you just open the 'Console' view on a fresh workspace, you will notice it has no toolbars, and no content in its client area.

Applied the patch, thanks Remy!
