Description Bouchet Stéphane CLA 2010-06-21 05:16:15 EDT
hi,

it happens that more than one people can modify description of a product on marketplace.

it happens also that one person could create a product and then cannot update it.

Could it be possible to the creator to specify a list of person that can modify description of the product ?

or if not, can the owner of a product be changed ?

Currently it is not possible for more then one person to maintain / modify a listing. I can however change the ownership of a plugin to a different user.

If you'd like the ownership changed on your listing please let me know which product listing you'd like changed and the bugzilla login of the user who should have ownership.

I would also be interested in the possiblity of adding another person which can modify the entry. I imagine this is especially interesting for open source projects.

When i initially investigate this feature it was arduous to implement. I'll take a look around to see if this is feasable now, but i make no promises.

I am planning to commit in the next few days to fix this problem.

The patch will allow a solution editor to add additional editors.

The patch was never committed because of privacy reason.

The problem is that we are using an auto-complete box with a list of e-mails of your users.

I think we should remove the auto-complete box for all users except administrators.

This would require the maintainer to know the exact e-mail of the user but at least the e-mail of all users will now be shown in the auto-complete box.

If an invalid e-mail was submitted the form will return an error.

I would like to ask if there is any progress on this feature? It is ridicolous that you cannot change the ownership of a product.

I am currently working on a re-design of Eclipse Marketplace. I will try to find some time to fix this bug at the same time.

In the meantime, please send an e-mail to marketplace@eclipse.org to add/remove authors on a marketplace listing.

Owners should now be able to add additional authors to their own listings.
