I get the error message The Eclipse executable launcher was unable to locate its companion shared library with 64bit version of RC3. Link: http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops/S-3.6RC3-201005271700/download.php?dropFile=eclipse-SDK-3.6RC3-win32-x86_64.zip MD5: cfbbfd52e1e3318554fc2e0ed48efd52 32bit of RC3 and 64bit of RC2 are both OK. Java versions installed: jre 1.6.0_14 (64bit) jre 1.6.0_20 (32bit) jdk 1.5.0_22 (64bit)
Sounds like an SWT bug. Moving to SWT for comments.
Prakash, the bug is still in equinox...moving
And back to Equinox ;-) Please post the contents of the eclipse.ini file for your RC3 installation. I should have this for the --launcher.library. --launcher.library plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.win32.win32.x86_64_1.1.0.v20100503 Confirm that the org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.win32.win32.x86_64_1.1.0.v20100503 directory exists on your installation. I have seen this happen if you extract the zip without creating directories. In that case everything gets extracted to a flat folder.
Also, in particular, you want org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.win32.win32.x86_64_1.1.0.v20100503\eclipse_1307.dll
SWT has a 64bit windows 7 machine, we tried RC3 there and it worked fine. I suspect problem with unzipping the archive.
