Both the Branch Selection Dialog and the Branch Creation page should mark the checked-out branch when coming up. Currently, this only works if a local branch is checked out, but it should also work in case of remote branches/tags employing the same "best guess" logic as used to display the remote branch/tag in the Git Label decorations for projects.
