It would interesting to add an RCP application template (or modify the existing ones) that would add p2 UI and other bundles.

This would be a really good thing to have, and I think it would be pretty easy (in theory we just have to change the product that's generated to include the p2 bundles) -- and maybe a small code to change to show the preference pages.

Were you just thinking of Simple Mail + p2 UI, or something more complex than that?

Obviously we also need to change the wizard so this is a new template (i.e. don't change an existing template, but add this as well).

After 5 years I think it is save to assume that PDE will not add such a template. Please reopen if you want to contribute such a template
