When I maximize a heap chart view, I really notice the re-draw.  It looks bad :)

I can see some flickering when maximizing the massif chart when there are 3 or more windows attached to the chart itself. Under those same circumstances, I notice the same flicker when maximizing other Eclipse views (Editor, Project Explorer, Console). 

Is that the noticeable redraw you are referring to? It looks like it is related to the graphic Eclipse uses to show side-windows 'disappearing' when you maximize one window.

Now that you mention it, you're right:  I see the same flicker when maximizing other Eclipse views.
