Created attachment 170009 [details] Screenshot of the quick outline I have an XSD that has been partially generated by another tool (trang) and when I look at it in the quick outline (the outline that opens on to top of the editor when you are in the source tab of the editor) there is really nothing useful that is being shown. What is surprising is that the outline view itself actually has some decent content.
The quick outline and the Outline view won't necessarily have identical content, otherwise why wouldn't you just make the Outline a Fast View and use keybindings to surface it? It would be constructive to suggest how it could be improved to be more useful in the next release.

This is not how I work with the outline. Since JDT introduced quick outline (probably 5 years ago), I just never use the outline view anymore since it shows the exact same content than the outline. > It would be constructive to suggest how it could be improved to be more useful > in the next release. Show the content of the outline since it actually has useful content.
