The instructions at http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops/S-3.6RC1-201005131500/details.php#ExamplePlugins still describe how to install the example plugins by extracting them into eclipse's plugins directory, rather than by importing them from their repository.

Released for 3.6R3, will be a couple of days until I update the builder for RC3.
