Build Identifier: 20100218-1602 My Eclipse started crashing frequently on start-up after some update that I got in ubuntu about 1-2 weeks ago. Unfortunately, I don't know exactly what was updated, but it seems to only be a problem for Eclipse out of all the programs I use. Essentially, I'll start eclipse, I'll see CPU activity, then I'll get a SIGSEGV (and an hs_err log file). It does NOT happen every time though. Sometimes, Eclipse is able to get started. Once it is started, it seems stable, it hasn't ever crashed AFTER the GUI has appeared on screen. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start Eclipse 2. Wait a couple of seconds 3. Crash...or maybe not.
Created attachment 169409 [details] one of the many hs_err files I've gotten when trying to run eclipse.
And oh yes, how forgetful of me: uname -a Linux mybox 2.6.31-21-generic #59-Ubuntu SMP Wed Mar 24 07:28:27 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I think i got the same problem. Linux Kubuntu (KDE) Lucid 10.4 64bit, crashes every start-up right after choosing the workspace. I attach also one of the thousand hs_err files, maybe you will find some additional informations

oh my kernel :) 2.6.32-23-generic #37-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jun 11 08:03:28 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Ah and maybe it would be helpful to mention that this occurs with the new new 3.6 release RCP package. Old 3.5 worked without any problems with the same installation. Didnt saw that this is an older bugreport, just saw that this one is still open... maybe i should open up a new one
Do you still experience the problem with Kepler(4.3)?
More than a month without reply and I can not reproduce the issue with supported swt version. Closing. Please reopen if you still experience the issue with supported swt version.
