Description Timothy Mowlem CLA 2010-05-20 05:24:38 EDT
Build Identifier: Version: 3.6.0 Build id: I20100429-1549

When I have several Java source files open in the editor (i.e. a set of tabs open) I can navigate to the next/previous tab (i.e. next to right or left of currently selected tab) by typing Control+PageDown (select next tab) or Control+PageUp (select previous tab). This works fine except when the rightmost tab is current, then typing Control+PageUp does nothing.

It should make the previous tab selected for editing.

Interestingly I cannot see entries for Ctrl+PageUp or Ctrl+PageDown listed in the General->Keys preference pane so I assume that these are built in 'hardwired' commands?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open several Java files in the editor
2. Move to the right most tab using Ctrl+PageDown
3. Now typing Ctrl+PageUp to move to previous tab fails

I assume the same happens with other editors - not just Java.

Works fine for me in N20100519-2000 using Windows XP.

Its not reproducible for me. Ctrl+pageup works fine.

Also its not hard coded, check the Previous Sub-tab and Next Sub-tab commands in the keys preference.

Strange it works fine using a standard Apple keyboard. I saw the issue using a PC Windows UK keyboard with the Command and Option keys switched via Keyboard preference pane. However on retesting the PC keyboard seems to work okay as well. Maybe a sticky key as the keyboard is quite old.

So not reproducible.

However I noticed the the keyboard shortcut assigned as shown in the Keys preference pane and the actual shortcut assigned are different.

The option is shown as Option+PageDown. But the actual keyboard shortcut that accomplishes the switch is Control+PageDown so that is also a bug.

Should I close this as NOT_REPRODUCIBLE and raise a new bug or can we continue with this one, maybe changing the title?

See bug 303158 comment 3. The Next/Previous Sub-Tab commands are Option+PageDown/Up on the Mac.

Marking as dup.
