The Marketplace website lists all Eclipse software regardless of what version of Eclipse it supports or what OS it is compatible with. However, when user accesses the Marketplace from the embedded client, it should be possible to filter out from the list stuff that will not work. This will make it significantly easier for users to find what they are looking for. One use case... Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse ships separate version (with a separate update site) for different versions of Eclipse platform. We currently have a version for Ganymede, Galileo and a tech preview for Helios. When user runs MPC from as Helios kit, we do not want them to see Ganymede and Galileo listings.
Please re-direct if this is not the correct place for marketplace client bug. Thanks.
Moving to Community/Marketplace since this filtering occurs on the server. related: bug 313007
I would need MPC to pass in a Eclipse Base version in order for this to work.
Nathan please refer to bug 313007
(In reply to comment #4) > Nathan please refer to bug 313007 I should have been more specific: metadata is already being passed per bug 313007 comment #6. Please track filtering functionality on this bug.
Hi, using final Helios package, version verification does not work. I have a product listed in the marketplace, but the eclipse version is 3.5 only. This product appear on the marketplace client and the install button is active. so users can hit that button, and p2 complains because of unsatisfied dependencies. :( This is a major bug for me...
