<response_by> Gaby Pelleg at 2010.05.18.08.25.15 </response_by> Description: Build 20100509-1500-nlbidi Language: Hebrew Steps: Start Eclipse Click Help on the main menu. Click on Install New Software... Problem: 1) When I work on my local machine, I get different values in the Work With drop down list. Why is that? Same build used on remote machine gives the correct results (as seen in the test case). Also, the list is RTL, so entries with neutrals are and garbeld. See attached screen shot. As the entries are not coming from PII, this list should be set LTR, the Hebrew Entry at the top will still display OK. <response_by> rewagner at 2010.05.18.09.38.53 </response_by> The is may be due to the default sites that show up. Are the sites in the Available Software Sites menu the same on both the test machine and your own? Thanks, Ross <response_by> rewagner at 2010.05.18.14.03.37 </response_by> This article was reassigned from Category:''TVT/Testing,Inbox''. <response_by> rewagner at 2010.05.18.14.04.47 </response_by> Kit would like the P2 team to take a look at the display of entries in the list box. Please let us know what you think. Thanks, Ross

<response_by> Gaby Pelleg at 2010.05.18.19.37.32 </response_by> Maybe I wasn't clear enough about the entries shown in the drop down list : On my machine, those are the entries seen in the screen shot. If you select any except "All available" you get an error icon and nothing is displayed in the bottom panel. On the remote test machine, with the same build, the entries are identical to those in the test case, and you can work with them.
I'm sorry, but I'm not sure the resolution you are after. What do you expect to happen, where, why? > On my machine, those are the entries seen in the screen shot. > If you select any except "All available" you get an error icon and nothing is > displayed in the bottom panel. If you select one of the site in the list, can you see its content? Can you proceed with the installation? I'm asking because I'm wondering if we would not have any issue with double bytes characters in paths and other places.
<response_by> Gaby Pelleg at 2010.05.20.14.19.56 </response_by> I'll try and explain again: There is a difference between what I see on my machine and the remote machine. I'm asking why there is a difference. The entries shown on my local machine are not functional, they cannot be used to install anything because they are wrong. As a side effect of this difference, I can also see that the dropdown list is RTL, which is not good for English addresses (this is not machine-dependent, it's just because the wrong entries on my local machine happen to contain neutral characters, so the wrong directionality is visible). What I expect is for the 2 machines to behave the same way. and the dropdown list to be set LTR. See new attached screen shot.

Created attachment 171062 [details] entries Gaby, I just tried that on my XP machine without any problems. The "Eclipse Project Update" site and "Helios" site entries are displaying okay, and the available softwares are listed properly.
Please click on the "Available Software Sites" link right below the combo box, make sure that the "Eclipse Project Update" site and "Helios" site entries are checked. Select a site, click on the "Reload" button to test the connection to make sure the site is available.
Created attachment 171064 [details] test connection Please also go to Help>About Eclipse SDK>Installation Details>Configuration and copy the system information so we can compare the difference between your system and ours.
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
This issue seems dead.
