Steps To Recreate Problem:
1) Start Eclipse and change the Perspective to Database Development Perspective from Window->Open Perspective->Other?
2) When the Database Development Perspective opens, verify the Data Source Explorer (DSE) opens. It should contain the Databases folder
3) Click the New Connection Profile button on the toolbar or right-click on a category folder in the DSE and select New? or select New Connection Profile from the DSE view menu.
4) In the wizard, select one of the available database types. For this test, select Derby.
5) Put TVTDerby in the Name field and TVTDerby description in the Description field.
6) Click Next
7) Select the button beside the driver combo box near the top of the wizard page.

Problem Description: The text "Especifique um modelo de controlador..." it's truncated. Please see the screenshot.

Patch for o.e.d.connectivity.ui
Comment 4 Brian Payton CLA 2010-05-12 01:04:35 EDT
The driver dialog in question is a class named DriverDialog. It extends the Eclipse class TitleAreaDialog. Unfortunately the TitleAreaDialog class is hard-coded to show only two lines in the message area. So long messages get truncated.

In order to fix this, I added a method to DriverDialog that overrides the code that initializes the dialog size when it opens. The new code determines a width for the dialog that is wide enough to accommodate the current message text when split over two lines.
