Martine <response_by> nguyer at 2010.05.03.09.47.59 </response_by> This is a confirmed bug on Windows 7 running Eclipse 3.6 build I-20100426 on IBM Java 1.6, and it is specific to Windows 7. Windows XP does not exhibit this behavior when running Ecilpse 3.6 build I-20100426 and IBM Java 1.6. Any file path separators in other languages (Hungarian, Finnish, Swedish, and French all confirmed, but likely includes more) inside Eclipse are shown with an erroneous character. The character can also be seen in the Eclipse configuration in About > Eclipse. Please see first attached screenshot. However, when this text is copied out of Eclipse and pasted into another program, such as Notepad, the characters are displayed as a backslash '\', which is the proper file path separator. <response_by> nguyer at 2010.05.03.09.56.11 </response_by> This article was reassigned from Category:''TVT/Testing,Product/Functional Issues''. <response_by> Emilio Cifuentes at 2010.05.03.10.03.05 </response_by> Same problem for spanish. Could a tester check the "Go to Control Panel / Regional and Language Options / Select Administrative tab (as shown). Make sure the current language for non-Unicode programs is English." ? PW

<response_by> Holger Schicht at 2010.05.05.07.19.31 </response_by> Hi, Same problem also occurs in German (de_DE) on Windows 7. I tried with English(US) as well as German(DE) for language for non-Unicode programs setting, but without any effect. Thanks, Holger

Can anyone tell me how to reproduce this problem ? In Control Panel->Region and Language, I have changed Formats, Format->German Location, Current Location->Germany Keyboards and languages, Choose current display language: Deutsch I also have tried to start Eclipse passing -nl de_DE I also tried all the above for portuguese language. I'm running Windows 7 - Ultimate, Eclipse 3.6 M7
I figured out the problem. We tried to fix a Windows 7 Japanese font problem by adding: org.eclipse.jface.dialogfont.0=Meiryo UI-regular-9 to the Japanese language pack for: jfacefonts_windows7.properties However, the key got distributed to other language packs. Problem is fixed when the key is removed from all language packs other than Japanese. I'm resolving this as invalid. Testers can verify in the next build. Thanks!
