Description Steffen Pingel CLA 2010-05-01 04:38:18 EDT
Steps:
1. Open discovery wizard
2. Scroll down
3. Press Info tooltip on catalog item
4. Click into catalog viewer to close tooltip

The problem is that clicking the toolbar button on Gtk does not cause the button to obtain focus. Once the tooltip disappears the first cchild ontrol in the viewer grabs the focus and hence the viewer scrolls to make this control visible.

The patch re-introduces a problem with keyboard navigation which is tracked on bug 312348. The unintended scrolling is a far worse usability problem though therefore I would prefer to disable automatic scrolling on focus which avoids that.

I agree with Steffen that unintended scrolling is much worse than a problem with keyboard navigation.
