This looks like an old bug that was fixed a while ago, I don't have the number of that bug (I did a search for truncate but did not find the bug I was thinking of) but I could find it.

I can't reproduce using the latest 3.6 build on Ubuntu, and from the look of the screen shot it appears that you are using Eclipse 3.4 or earlier. Can you verify the build id from the about box? Meanwhile we will see if we can find the old bug that showed the same symptoms.

I think the old bug you are thinking of is bug 216153. I work with James, and I'm seeing this in our product when using the latest version pulled from the 3.6 release update site, which looks like it's currently pulling 3.6M6.

We're still experiencing this problem in 3.6M7.

I'm pretty sure that this is a duplicate of Bug 342610, in which case it is fixed.
