When printing Java source there are no page numbers genreated. It would be really useful if page numbers could be included on the output - else a scrambled listing becomes nearly useless. If the display is set to show line numbers these should be placed on the printed copy as well. Line numbers on print can be useful when performing code reviews to allow developers to quickly all identify code during discussions when working remotely. A header on first page of printout with source name and path would be handy as well, but line numbers would be a great first step.
This isn't just for Java, of course. I've just printed out a huge XML document - and now I've got to write the page numbers on... If page numbers take up a full line, then possibly options for what else is on that line would be nice. For instance: o Filename (might as well avaiable to be on every page rather than just the first) o Line number range for page o Page number o File modification date o Printing date Just page numbers would be a valuable first step though, as far as I'm concerned :)
