I was just fiddling with p2 dropins, and noticed, in the configuration dump (Help > Installation Details > Configuration) that the p2 reconciler hasn't updated the location of plugins where the version number hasn't changed. For example: Id: org.tigris.subversion.clientadapter, Version: 1.6.10, Location: reference:file:../p2extensions/subclipse/1.6.10/eclipse/plugins/org.tigris.subversion.clientadapter_1.6.10.jar Id: org.tigris.subversion.clientadapter.svnkit, Version: 1.6.10, Location: reference:file:../p2extensions/subclipse/1.6.10/eclipse/plugins/org.tigris.subversion.clientadapter.svnkit_1.6.10.jar Id: org.tigris.subversion.subclipse.core, Version: 1.6.10, Location: reference:file:../p2extensions/subclipse/1.6.10/eclipse/plugins/org.tigris.subversion.subclipse.core_1.6.10.jar Id: org.tigris.subversion.subclipse.doc, Version: 1.3.0, Location: reference:file:../p2extensions/subclipse/1.6.5/eclipse/plugins/org.tigris.subversion.subclipse.doc_1.3.0.jar Id: org.tigris.subversion.subclipse.graph, Version: 1.0.7, Location: reference:file:../p2extensions/subclipse/1.6.5/eclipse/plugins/org.tigris.subversion.subclipse.graph_1.0.7.jar Id: org.tigris.subversion.subclipse.ui, Version: 1.6.10, Location: reference:file:../p2extensions/subclipse/1.6.10/eclipse/plugins/org.tigris.subversion.subclipse.ui_1.6.10.jar Id: org.tmatesoft.svnkit, Version: 1.3.2.6267, Location: reference:file:../p2extensions/subclipse/1.6.8/eclipse/plugins/org.tmatesoft.svnkit_1.3.2.6267.jar I only have a link to ../p2extension/subclipse/1.6.10 so it's surprising that it's still referring to plugins under ../p2extensions/subclipse/1.6.8 and ../p2extensions/subclipse/1.6.5, especially as the 1.6.10 version has these plugins within it. Clearly the Eclipse install will continue to work fine, but in the future this could cause problems: - plugins might get stuck in the configuration(?) - any future deletion of old versions will break existing configurations.
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
